Welcome to the
The YMCA of Elkhart County strengthens the foundations of our community through well-being and fitness, camps, family time, swim, sports and play, and other activities for people of all ages, incomes and abilities. We’re more than just a place to work out. At the Y, we help build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all with the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at the heart of everything we do.
With a commitment to nurturing youth development, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive.

With more than 12 percent of the current population age 65 or more, and projected to increase to nearly 20% in the next two decades, providing resources and support for seniors to develop healthier habits that include increased physical activity is more important than ever. On Friday, May 18, the Y invites all those in the community interested in health information and active programming for older adults to visit our health fair!
Each month we focus on the positive character aspects of our employees, incredible members and volunteers who more than deserve recognition. The Y staff nominates a fellow co-worker, member or volunteer that has exhibited exceptional caring, responsibility or respect to other staff, members or volunteers. Three plaques hang in the Welcome Center of the Y with the picture of each month's nominees.
The temperature is getting warmer and days are getting longer. That can only mean one thing, summer is right around the corner. As the kids are counting down the days and the hours to a 10 week vacation, parents may be asking themselves "how can I keep them entertained?" This is where the Y can help!
If you browse our Y weight room you'll notice we offer a variety of Cybex fitness equipment. This equipment is designed to deliver unparalleled results for exercisers from first-time users to professional athletes and very well could be the most popular pieces of exercise equipment at the Y. Some like to hit the free weights while many others prefer machines that offer similar results in less time and with less stress.
To kick-start physical activity and learning throughout the summer – a critical out-of-school time for kids – the YMCA of Elkhart County celebrated Healthy Kids Day® this past Saturday, April 14th with a free community event for kids and families. Summer is the ideal time for kids to get up, get out and grow, but for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are more prone to gain weight and fall behind academically over the summer months...
